Bicycle House is a non-profit organization advocating safe, practical transportation and social responsibility, with an emphasis on healthy living.

Bicycle Mechanics Class Want to learn how to repair your bike? Bicycle House offers a five week course in beginning bicycle maintenance and repair. All Bicycle House volunteers are required complete this course.

Build-a-Bike Program Since 2011, Bicycle House has helped build over 1000 bikes for local residents and youth. This program is made possible through the donations of abandoned bicycles from the Florida State University Police Department. Get started on building your own bike by signing up on the Bicycle House website!

Hostel Services Have friends passing through Tallahassee? Bicycle House offers hostel accommodations for traveling cyclists including a shower, small kitchen, and most importantly, a place to rest your head!

Public Tool Access Need to repair your bike but don’t have the necessary tools! Bike House can help! Stop by anytime the shop is open and use the tools you need to help get you back on two wheels.

Community Activities Bicycle House volunteers organize and participate in various community efforts, including safety training, helmet fitting, child bike safety and proper maintenance, bicycle rodeos and even trail clean-up! Volunteers with Bicycle House’s “Street Sweepers” respond to community alerts regarding glass in bike lanes and on trails and even help clean up after large community events.

Krank It Up!

Hours: Wednesday through Friday 5-8PM

Krank It Up! provides an open work space and access to the tools necessary to work on bicycles. During shop hours, volunteers are available to teach people how to repair and maintain their bikes. Don’t have a bike? Krank it Up! can help! Volunteers can help interested cyclists build their own bikes using frames and bikes donated by the community. Want to meet other local cyclists? Krank it Up! recently hosted the 2014 Bike! Bike! Southeast regional conference.
